New Student Orientation
A New Student Orientation Session (ONTRAC Session) is conducted prior to each academic semester. All new students are required to attend one ONTRAC session as part of their educational program. Through participation in this program, new students will be introduced to college policies and procedures, receive your semester class schedule and an assessment of your academic standing, receive financial aid assistance, be able to complete the COMPASS Placement test, participate in a campus tour, and will have an opportunity to meet with faculty members, academic advisors, administration and staff. The ONTRAC Session dates for the upcoming Spring 2016 Semester are listed below:

Are you registered for the Orientation to College Class? Another component to new student orientation is the Orientation to College (ORT100 OL) Course which is also a requirement for all new students of Reid State Technical College. The purpose of the orientation course is to introduce the students to college life and to impart strategies for student success. The course is currently offered as an online class and it addresses student attitudes, goals, and study skills, time management, stress management, problem-solving techniques, methods for resolving conflicts, and skills for successful teamwork. This course will start at the beginning of the semester of the students’ initial enrollment at Reid State. Make certain that you meet with your academic advisor to have this required course added to your class schedule.
